Conflict is rising. Join the movement to create a peaceful future. Sign the Pledge

This campaign empowers all parties and participants globally to demand justice, protect rights, and support peaceful, democratic solutions to Panama's political, social, and environmental crises.
The why: Panama’s democratic integrity depends on protecting civic rights and environmental justice. Your vote can demand accountability and sustainable self-determination.
The crisis: Ongoing national tensions surrounding open-pit mining concessions, unresolved environmental restoration gaps, and the protection of peaceful civic discourse.
The demand: Enforcing strict environmental protection, protecting labor and Indigenous rights, and guaranteeing transparent democratic dialogue over natural resources.
The goal: Moving from national unrest and economic uncertainty to a diplomatic, non-violent resolution that protects both communities and ecosystems.

Following historic nationwide protests that led to the Supreme Court declaring the Cobre Panamá open-pit mining contract unconstitutional, the nation stands at a critical environmental and economic crossroads. As of mid-July 2026, an inter-agency government task force is actively evaluating a comprehensive audit of the suspended copper mine, which identified persistent operational deficiencies in reforestation and biodiversity management, in order to deliver a formal recommendation on the project's future before the end of the year. Meanwhile, ongoing public demonstrations by civil society, labor unions, and Indigenous Ngäbe communities continue to highlight deep public mistrust and the urgent demand that national leadership respect the popular opposition to open-pit mining.
True national stability requires an economy that honors the will of its people and protects its vital rainforests and freshwater supplies. We must demand transparent democratic reforms and strict institutional accountability, ensuring that any decision regarding national resources is driven by open public dialogue, environmental justice, and respect for human dignity rather than external economic pressure.
